Beskrivelse:
mercenary har identificeret en sårbarhed i PHP, som kan udnyttes af ondsindede personer til at kompromittere et sårbart system.

Sårbarheden skyldes en ikke-kontrolleret buffer i håndteringen af named pipe delen af "server" parameteren suppleret til "mysql_connect()" PHP funktionen i "HANDLE create_named_pipe()" funktionen i "libmysql.c". Dette kan udnyttes til at forårsage et stack-baseret buffer overflow via et PHP script der kalder "mysql_connect()" hvor "server" parameteren kan kontrolleres af en ondsindet person.

NOTE: Exploit kode er offentliggjort.

Sårbarheden er bekræftet i version 4.4.1 til Windows. Det rapporteres at version 4.3.10 og 4.4.0 til Windows også er sårbare. Andre versioner er muligvis også berørte.
