Description:
$um$id has discovered a vulnerability in Discus, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

Input passed in the URL isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user in an error message. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

The vulnerability has been confirmed in Discus Freeware version 3.10.5 and also reported in Discus Professional 3.10.4. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
