Description: Gentoo has issued updates for sun-jdk, sun-jre-bin, blackdown-jdk, and blackdown-jre. These fixes some vulnerabilities, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
For more information:
SA17748
Solution: Sun JDK users:
Update to "dev-java/sun-jdk-1.4.2.09" or later.
Sun JRE users:
Update to "dev-java/sun-jre-bin-1.4.2.09" or later.
Blackdown JDK users:
Update to "dev-java/blackdown-jdk-1.4.2.03" or later.
Blackdown JRE users:
Update to "dev-java/blackdown-jre-1.4.2.03" or later.
NOTE: No stable and secure Blackdown Java package exists for the SPARC or PPC architectures. The vendor recommends affected users on the PPC architecture to consider to switch to the IBM Java packages ((ibm-jdk-bin and ibm-jre-bin) and affected users on the SPARC architecture to remove the package until a fixed package is available.
