Description: blossom has reported a vulnerability in the Linux Kernel, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to missing validation of the return code of a function call in the "search_binary_handler()" function of exec.c. This can be exploited by local users to cause a kernel panic via certain commands.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 2.4.21. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to version 2.4.33.
