|
|
Description: Rodrigo Marcos has discovered a weakness in TYPO3, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose system information.
The problem is that it is possible to disclose the full path to "typo3/t3lib/thumbs.php" by accessing it directly.
It is also possible to disclose the full path to "tslib/showpic.php" and "t3lib/stddb/tables.php". However, this requires that "display_errors" is enabled.
The weakness has been confirmed in version 3.8.1 and has also been reported in version 3.7.1. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Restrict direct access to the "typo3/t3lib/thumbs.php" script (e.g. with a .htaccess file).
Production systems should not return error messages to clients.
Provided and/or discovered by: Rodrigo Marcos
Changelog: 2006-01-25: Added CVE reference.
