Description:
P@r@n01d and $um$id have discovered a vulnerability in FileCopa FTP Server, which can be exploited by malicious users to access files in arbitrary locations on a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error within the processing of arguments passed via the "STOR" and "RETR" FTP commands. This can be exploited to read and write files in arbitrary locations outside the FTP root.

Successful exploitation may allow compromise of a vulnerable system e.g. by overwriting or creating files in the startup directories.

The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 1.01 released 2005-11-21.
