Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in MediaWiki, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the handling of edit comment formatting. This can be exploited to cause PHP to go into an infinite loop, potentially consuming a large amount of CPU resources, via certain malformed links.

Note: The script will reportedly be terminated after PHP's 30 seconds failsafe timeout.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.4.x prior to 1.4.14, and in 1.5.x prior to 1.5.6.

Solution:
Update to version 1.4.14. or 1.5.6.
