|
Description: Aliaksandr Hartsuyeu has discovered two vulnerabilities in Unknown Domain Shoutbox, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion and SQL injection attacks.
1) Input passed to the "Handle" and "Message" fields isn't properly sanitised before being saved. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site with a malicious message is viewed.
2) Input passed to various parameters isn't properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
Successful exploitation requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 1.0. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
Provided and/or discovered by: Aliaksandr Hartsuyeu
Changelog: 2006-02-14: Added CVE references.
