Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in UnixWare, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.

The vulnerability is caused due to an access validation error in the "ptrace()" system call as setuid permissions on traced executables aren't checked. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary code with root privileges.

The vulnerability has been reported in UnixWare 7.1.3 and 7.1.4.

Solution:
Apply updated packages.
