Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in Novell CASA, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the CASA PAM handler (pam_micasa authentication module). This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow and allows arbitrary code execution.

The vulnerability has been reported in CASA included with:
* Novell Linux Desktop 9 for x86 (i386)
* Novell Linux Desktop 9 for x86_64 (x86_64)
* Open Enterprise Server (i386)

Solution:
Apply updates.
