|
|
Description: KeyShore and Yog have discovered a vulnerability in iCal, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks.
Input passed to the "Calendar Text" field when adding a new event isn't properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious user data is viewed.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 3.10. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Edit the configuration so that only trusted users can add new events.
Provided and/or discovered by: KeyShore and Yog
Changelog: 2006-03-02: Added CVE reference.
