CVE-2006-0941

Description:
Aliaksandr Hartsuyeu has reported some vulnerabilities in ShoutLIVE, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks and to compromise a vulnerable system.

1) Missing access control to the savesettings.php script allows changes to be made to the settings.php file without requiring authentication. This can be exploited to make arbitrary changes to the configuration settings and to insert PHP code.

2) Input passed to post.php isn't properly sanitised before being saved. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected website when a malicious message is viewed.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 1.1.0. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and access control is properly enforced.
