CVE-2008-1163

Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in phpArcadeScript, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and SQL injection attacks.

1) Some input is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

Examples:
http://[victim]/includes/tellafriend.php?about=game&gamename=[code]
http://[victim]/admin/loginbox.php?loginstatus=1&login_status=[code]
http://[victim]/index.php?action=tradelinks&submissionstatus=[code]
http://[victim]/includes/browse.php?cell_title_background_color=[code]
http://[victim]/includes/browse.php?browse_cat_id=1&browse_cat_name=[code]
http://[victim]/includes/displaygame.php?filetype=1&gamefile=[code]

2) Input passed to the "userid" parameter in index.php (when "action" is set to "profile") is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability allows e.g. retrieving usernames and password hashes.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 2.0 and prior. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
