Description:
Hamid Ebadi has discovered a vulnerability in CuteNews, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive information.

Input passed to the "archive" parameter in a POST request or in a cookie isn't properly sanitised before being used to display file content. This can be exploited to disclose the content of certain files via directory traversal attacks (e.g. "users.db.php").

Successful exploitation requires that the file being read has a special format and that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.

The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 1.4.1. Other versions may also be affected.
