CVE-2006-1716
CVE-2006-1717

Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in MyBB, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and script insertion attacks.

1) Input passed to the "email" and "img" BBcode tags when posting a message is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the user e.g. moves the cursor over a malicious image or "mailto:" URI.

2) Input passed to the "username" parameter in "newthread.php" when previewing a post isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

Successful exploitation requires that unauthenticated users are allowed to post new threads (not default setting).

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 1.10. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Update to version 1.1.1.
