CVE-2008-0332

Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in ARIA, which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct script insertion attacks, and by malicious people to disclose sensitive information or to compromise a vulnerable system.

1) Input passed to the "message" parameter in genmessage.php is not properly sanitised before being saved. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when malicious data is viewed.

2) Input passed to the "description" and "comment" parameters in docmgmtadd.php and to the "name", "address1", "address2", "city", "email", and "web" parameters in gencompanyupd.php and gencompanyadd.php is not properly sanitised before being saved. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when malicious data is viewed.

Limited HTML can be inserted via the "state", "zip", and "country" parameters in gencompanyupd.php and gencompanyadd.php.

3) Input passed to the "page" parameter in help/effect.php is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local resources or external FTP resources.

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 0.99-6. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and verified.

Use another product.
