Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in FarsiNews, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

1) Input passed to the "selected_search_arch" parameter in search.php isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

It is reportedly also possible to disclose the full path to index.php by accessing it with an invalid "archive" parameter.

2) Input passed to the "month" and "year" parameters in index.php, and to the "mod" parameter in admin.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 2.5.3 Pro. Other versions may also be affected.
