Description:
Qex has reported a vulnerability in Boardsolution, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose system information and conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

Input passed to the "keyword" parameter in index.php when performing a search isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user via a SQL error message. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

This can also be exploited to disclose the full path to the installation via an invalid "keyword" parameter.

The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 1.12. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and that SQL error messages are not returned to users.

Provided and/or discovered by:
Qex

Changelog:
2006-04-27: Added CVE reference.
