CVE-2006-1807

Description:
Some vulnerabilities and a security issue have been reported in Musicbox, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose system information and to conduct script insertion, and SQL injection attacks.

1) Input passed to the "term" parameter in index.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to users. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which is executed in a user's browser session in context of a vulnerable site when the recent searches are displayed.

2) Input passed to the "start" parameter in index.php is not properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

3) The problem is that it is possible to view certain system information returned by the "phpinfo()" function by accessing the file "phpinfo.php" directly (reported in version 2.3.4).

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 2.3 Beta 3 and 2.3.4. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and restrict access to the phpinfo.php file (e.g. with a .htaccess file).
