Description: rgod has reported a vulnerability and a weakness in Sysinfoscript, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose system information or compromise a vulnerable system.
1) Input passed to the "name" parameter in sysinfo.cgi is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject and execute arbitrary shell commands via the ";" (semicolon) character.
Example:
http://[host]/cgi-bin/sysinfo.cgi?action=systemdoc&name=;[code]
2) It is possible to disclose the full path to the installation by setting the "action" parameter to "debugging".
The vulnerability and weakness have been reported in version 1.21. Other versions may also be affected.
