Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in DirectAdmin, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

Input passed to CMD_FILE_MANAGER, to the "TYPE" parameter in CMD_TICKET_CREATE and CMD_TICKET, to the "name" parameter in CMD_EMAIL_LIST, and to the "user" parameter in CMD_FTP_SHOW, CMD_EMAIL_FORWARDER_MODIFY, HTML_EMAIL_POP_MODIFY and CMD_EMAIL_VACATION_MODIFY when being logged in with "User" privileges, and to the "file" parameter in CMD_ADMIN_FILE_EDITOR and "user" parameter in CMD_SHOW_RESELLER and CMD_SHOW_USER when being logged in with "Administrator" privileges, and to the "domain" parameter in "HTM_PASSWD" is not properly sanitised before being returned to a user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

The vulnerabilities are reported in version 1.29.0 and 1.28.1. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Filter malicious characters and character sequences in a proxy or firewall with URL filtering capabilities.
