|
Description: Aliaksandr Hartsuyeu has reported a vulnerability in Advanced Poll, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks.
Input passed to the "User-Agent" HTTP header when inserting a poll log isn't properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 2.0.4. Prior versions may also be affected.
Note: It has also been reported that it is possible bypass the voting IP address restriction by manipulating the IP address in the "X-Forwarded-For" HTTP header.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
Provided and/or discovered by: Aliaksandr Hartsuyeu
Changelog: 2006-05-03: Added CVE references.
