CVE-2006-7076
CVE-2006-7077

Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in the Advanced Guestbook module for phpBB, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks and compromise a vulnerable system.

1) Input passed to the "phpbb_root_path" parameter in admin/addentry.php is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary PHP code by including files from local or external resources.

Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.

2) Input passed to the "entry" parameter in guestbook.php is not properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. This can also be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site via SQL error messages.

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 2.4.0. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified.
