|
|
Description: Nomenumbra has discovered two vulnerabilities in Russcom.Loginphp, which can be exploited by malicious people to use it as an open mail relay and conduct script insertion attacks.
1) Input passed to the "Uname" parameter in "register.php" isn't properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious user data is viewed.
2) Input passed to the "Email" and "Body" parameters in "help.php" isn't properly verified, before it is used in a mail. This can be exploited to send a mail with an arbitrary message to an arbitrary mail address.
The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in the latest available version. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and verified.
Provided and/or discovered by: Nomenumbra
Changelog: 2006-05-04: Added CVE references.
