Description: Infigo Information Security has discovered a vulnerability in Argosoft FTP Server, which can be exploited by malicious users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and potentially compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the handling of the RNTO command. This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via overly long arguments passed to the command.
Successful exploitation crashes the FTP server and may allow arbitrary code execution.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 1.4.3.6. Other versions may also be affected.
