|
|
Description: Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in the phpbb-Auction module for phpBB, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks or to compromise a vulnerable system.
1) Input passed to the "phpbb_root_path" parameter in "auction/auction_common.php" isn't properly verified, before it is used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from external and local resources.
Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.
2) Input passed to the "ar" parameter in auction_room.php, and to the "u" parameter in auction_rating.php and auction_store.php is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 1.3m. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified and sanitised.
