Description: aLMaSTeR has reported some vulnerabilities in PHP Arena paCheckbook, which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct SQL injection attacks.
Input passed to the "transtype" and "entry" parameters in index.php is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
Example:
http://[host]/index.php?action=add&transtype=[code]&acct=1
http://[host]/index.php?action=edit&start=0&transtype=1&entry=[code]
Successful exploitation requires a valid user account.
The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 1.1. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
Grant only trusted users access to affected systems.
Provided and/or discovered by: aLMaSTeR
