Description: Kevin Finisterre has reported a security issue in ClamXav, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to disclose potentially sensitive information.
The security issue is caused due to the installer of ClamXav setting the suid bit on the freshclam binary. This can be exploited to disclose part of the contents of certain files (e.g. /etc/shadow) via error messages that are displayed by freshclam when run with the "--config-file" command line option.
The security issue has been reported in ClamXav 1.0.3h. Other versions may also be affected.
