Description: rgod has reported a vulnerability in Unclassified NewsBoard, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive information and compromise a vulnerable system.
Input passed to the "ABBC[Config][smileset]" parameter in "unb_lib/abbc.css.php" isn't properly verified, before it is used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local resources.
This can further be exploited include arbitrary PHP code injected into uploaded images.
Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled and that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.6.1 Patch 1. Prior versions may also be affected.
The "design_path" parameter in "bb_lib/abbc.css.php" is reportedly also affected in the 1.5 branch.
Solution: The vulnerability has been fixed in the development version (snapshot 2006-05-11).
Set "register_globals" to "Off".
