Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in OpenLDAP, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in slurpd within the handling of the status file. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via an overly long hostname read from the status file.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 2.3.21. Prior versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Update to version 2.3.22 or later.
