CVE-2006-7058

Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in Sphider, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks and SQL injection attacks.

1) Input passed to the "category" parameter in search.php is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. This can also be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site via SQL error messages.

2) Input passed to the "catid" parameter in templates/standard/search_form.html and templates/dark/search_form.html is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 1.3b and 1.3.1. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Update to version 1.3.1c.
