Description: Luigi Auriemma has reported two vulnerabilities in libextractor, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and potentially compromise an application that uses the library.
1) A boundary error exists in the "asf_read_header()" function within the asfextractor plugin when reading input from an ASF file. This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted ASF file with an overly large "total_size" value.
2) A boundary error exists in the "parse_trak_atom()" function within the qtextractor plugin when reading input from a QT/MOV file. This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted QT/MOV file.
The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 0.5.13. Prior versions may also be affected.
