| CVE reference: | CVE-2006-2611
|
|
Description: Nick Jenkins has reported some vulnerabilities in MediaWiki, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks.
Some input passed in the variable handler isn't properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious user data is viewed.
The vulnerabilities have been reported in versions prior to 1.6.6 for the 1.6 branch.
Solution: Update to version 1.6.6.
