| CVE reference: | CVE-2006-2615
|
|
Description: Nomenumbra has discovered a vulnerability in Russcom.Ping, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
Input passed to the "domain" parameter in ping.php is not properly sanitised before being used in a "system()" call. This can be exploited to inject and execute arbitrary shell commands (e.g. via the "|" parameter).
The vulnerability has been confirmed in the latest available version. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
Provided and/or discovered by: Nomenumbra
Changelog: 2006-05-31: Added CVE reference.
