Description:
A vulnerability and a security issue have been discovered in NewsCMSLite, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions.

1) The vulnerability is caused due to weak authentication mechanisms being implemented in newsadmin.asp to restrict access to the admin page. This can be exploited to bypass authentication checks by setting the "loggedIn" cookie parameter to a known default value when accessing the page.

Successful exploitations allows access to administrative functions without requiring knowledge of the password, but requires that the user has not modified the source code to change the cookie value.

2) The security issue is caused due to incorrect permissions on "newsCMS.mdb", which can be exploited to disclose the contents of the database.

The vulnerability and the security issue have been confirmed in the latest version.
