| CVE reference: | CVE-2006-2770
|
|
Description: rgod has discovered a vulnerability in pppBLOG, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive information.
Input passed to the "files[0]" parameter in randompic.php isn't properly verified, before it is used in a "readfile()" call. This can be exploited to disclose the content of arbitrary files via directory traversal attacks.
Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 0.3.8. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified.
Set "register_globals" to "Off".
Provided and/or discovered by: rgod
Changelog: 2006-06-07: Added CVE reference.
