Description: Yannick von Arx has discovered a vulnerability in SimpleBoard, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks.
Input passed to the "sb_authorname" parameter when submitting a new forum post is not properly sanitised before being displayed in the "Last Post" column. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the main page of the Forum is viewed.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 1.1.0 Stable when used with Joomla 1.0.8. Other versions may also be affected.
