| CVE reference: | CVE-2006-2946 CVE-2006-2947
|
|
Description: DarkFig has discovered two security issues in Dmx Forum, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive information.
1) The "_includes/bd.inc" configuration file is stored insecurely inside the web root. This can be exploited to disclose the username and password for the database.
2) An error caused due to missing authentication checks when accessing the "pops/edit.php" script can be exploited to disclose the username and password for other users by defining the "membre" parameter.
The security issues have been confirmed in version 2.1a. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that users are properly authenticated and restrict web access to the "_includes/bd.inc" file.
Provided and/or discovered by: DarkFig
Changelog: 2006-06-15: Added CVE references.
