Description: Victor Daniel has reported a vulnerability in GNOME Display Manager (GDM), which can be exploited by malicious, local users to bypass certain security restrictions.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error in restricting access to the GDM configuration GUI. This can be exploited to gain access to the configuration GUI using the user's own password instead of the root password.
Successful exploitation requires that the "Face Browser" functionality is enabled.
The vulnerability has been reported in the 2.8.x, 2.14.x, and 2.15.x branches.
