Description:
Federico Fazzi has discovered a vulnerability in AWF CMS, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

Input passed to the "spaw_root" parameter in spaw/spaw_control.class.php isn't properly verified, before it is used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from external and local resources.

Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.

NOTE: This has been inadequately fixed in the 2.x branch as it is still possible to include arbitrary files from local resources by appending a null byte on the parameter value if "magic_quotes_gpc" is enabled, or include arbitrary scripts from a remote network share (Microsoft Windows only).

The vulnerability has been confirmed in versions 1.11 and 2.1.4. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified.

Set "register_globals" to "Off".
