Solution:
Apply Interim Security Relief (ISR).

Solaris 10 (SPARC platform):
Apply IDR123453-01.

Solaris 10 (x86 platform):
Apply IDR123454-01.

As a workaround, the vendor suggests setting the "ForkEachJob" option and configuring sendmail to write statically named core files (see vendor advisory for details).

A final resolution is pending completion.
