The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the TOSRFBD.SYS driver when handling L2CAP Echo Requests. This can be exploited to cause out-of-bounds memory access via specially crafted L2CAP Echo Requests containing a large payload.

Successful exploitation causes Windows to reboot but requires knowledge of the Bluetooth device address.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 4.00.23. Other versions may also be affected.

Note: Products from other vendors that use the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack may also be affected.
