CVE-2006-4757
CVE-2006-4794
CVE-2006-5786

Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in e107, which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct SQL injection attacks, and by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and script insertion attacks, and to disclose sensitive information.

1) Some input isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

Example:
http://[host]/search.php?q=&r=0&s=Search&in=1&ex=1&ep=[code]&be=1&t=1&adv=1&type=all&on=new&time=any&author=
http://[host]/contact.php/[code]
http://[host]/download.php/[code]
http://[host]/e107_admin/admin.php/[code]
http://[host]/fpw.php/[code]
http://[host]/news.php/[code]
http://[host]/search.php/[code]
http://[host]/signup.php/[code]
http://[host]/submitnews.php/[code]
http://[host]/user.php/[code]

2) Input passed to the "Subject" field when posting a comment isn't properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious user data is viewed when replying to a comment.

3) Input passed to the "searchquery" form field parameter in e107_admin/users.php, to the "linkopentype", "linkrender", "link_class", and "link_id" parameters in e107_admin/links.php, and to the "download_category_class" parameter in e107_admin/download.php is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

Successful exploitation requires administrative privileges for the affected sections and that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.

4) Input passed to the "e107language_e107cookie" cookie parameter in class2.php is not properly verified before being used. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local resources.

Successful exploitation requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 0.7.5. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and verified.
