Description: Dedi Dwianto has discovered some vulnerabilities in W-Agora, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
Input passed to the "inc_dir" parameter in init_admin.inc and init.inc, and to the "inc_dir" and "cfg_dir" parameters in extras/quicklist.php is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary PHP code by including files from local or external resources.
Examples:
http://[host]/add_user.php?inc_dir=[file]
http://[host]/browse_avatar.php?inc_dir=[file]
http://[host]/extras/quicklist.php?bn=1&cfg_dir=[file]
http://[host]/extras/quicklist.php?bn=1&inc_dir=[file]
Note: Many more files can be used as vectors due to including init_admin.inc and init.inc.
Some other issues which may be security related have also been reported.
The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 4.2.0. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to version 4.2.1.
