|
|
Description: Sam Thomas has discovered a vulnerability in YaBB SE, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks.
Input passed to the "user" parameter in Sources/Profile.php is not properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
Example:
http://[host]/index.php?board=&action=viewprofile&user=[code]
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 1.5.5c. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Use another product. YaBB SE is not under development any more.
Provided and/or discovered by: Sam Thomas
Changelog: 2006-06-30: Added CVE reference.
2008-01-25: Updated "Solution" section.
