Description: Darren Bounds has discovered a vulnerability in Trend Micro Control Manager, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks.
Input passed to the "Username" field during login to the administration web interface isn't properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in an administrator's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious user data is viewed when displaying the access log.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 3.5. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Filter traffic to the web interface.
Provided and/or discovered by: Darren Bounds
Changelog: 2006-06-30: Added CVE reference.
