Description:
Ellipsis Security has reported some vulnerabilities in aeDating, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

Input passed to the "Sex" parameter in index.php and to the "Email" form field parameter in forgot.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

The vulnerabilities are reported in version 4.1. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.

aeDating is no longer supported by the vendor. The vendor recommends installing their product Dolphin instead. Dolphin version 5.6.0004 does not have these vulnerabilities.

Ellipsis Security

Changelog:

2007-03-27: Updated "Solution" section.
