Description:
Luigi Auriemma has reported a vulnerability in DUMB, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the handling of ".it" (Impulse Tracker) files. This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via a malicious ".it" file with a specially crafted envelope.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 0.9.3. Other versions may also be affected.
