|
|
Description: Sirdarckcat has discovered two vulnerabilities in Ajax Chat, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks and disclose sensitive information.
1) Input passed to the "chatid" parameter in includes/operator_chattranscript.php isn't properly sanitised before being used in a "fopen()" call. This can be exploited to disclose the content of arbitrary files structured in a certain way via directory traversal attacks.
2) Input passed to the "userid" parameter in visitor/livesupport/chat.php isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 0.1. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
Provided and/or discovered by: Sirdarckcat
Changelog: 2006-08-08: Added CVE references.
