Description:
Tan Chew Keong has reported two vulnerabilities in Lhaz, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

1) A boundary error when extracting LZH files can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow when attempting to extract a specially crafted LZH file containing a compressed file with an overly long filename (more than 260 bytes).

This is related to:
SA11510
SA12435

2) A boundary error exists during the construction of an error message when attempting to extract an invalid LZH file. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow when a specially crafted LZH file with an invalid CRC checksum is extracted.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities allows execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 1.31 (Japanese). Prior versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Update to version 1.32.
